Business Analyst

We are seeking a technically proficient Business Analyst experienced in the payment solutions industry to join the Peg Technology Team.

The role, which sits within the business team, you will be presenting the products, features and solutions to internal and external stakeholders and supporting the business in researching and gathering industry knowledge and trends, enabling the Business team to design and further enhance our payment products to retain being a leading payments solutions provider of next generation apps and services across a variety of delivery channels (mobile, web, USSD etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This is an end to end BA role (combination of both IT and Business BA duties) so you must be comfortable in delivering both aspects
  • Gather Business Requirements and documentation - working closely with both the Business and the IT team.
  • Draw functional and non-functional specifications, including use case documents.
  • Devise Process/system analysis and solution definition - working with IT to define solution architecture in line with business requirements and operating model principles.
  • Manage high-level scope breakdown to workable epic user stories, monitor scope implementation and be part of user acceptance test preparation and training.
  • Create and maintain user guides and other communication documentation for internal departments and conduct internal training on new product features and changes.
  • Monitor and analyse product / feature performance and drive reiteration and improvement processes.
  • Overseeing communications with 3 rd parties and managing the requirements and their statuses along the SDLC.
  • As part of the Business Team conducting individual researches on different aspects o the product in order to elicit the requirements or validate stakeholder assumptions.
  • Managing Integration discussions, facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders to elicit requirements are standard.

Qualification

  • Bachelors or higher degree in computer science, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years + Business Analysis experience gained within Fintech.
  • Preferable certification and/or knowledge in methodologies and principles presented in BABOK.
  • Preferable certification and/or knowledge in Agile Extension to BABOK Guide or Scrum Alliance Certification.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in PayFac / Payment processing.
  • 2+ year experience in working within card payments solution (SWIFT, ISO20022, ISO 8583, MAMBO) and mobile wallets.
  • Must have worked in an AGILE environment producing functional scopes in the form of user stories.
  • Knowledge of core BA principles - data mapping, gap analysis, UML, process flows, mapping/modelling, workflow.
  • Must have detailed Documentation experience - able to draft detailed business, technical/functional requirements, and relevant governance documentation relevant to production/service transition requirements.
  • Have an excellent understanding of business environment.
  • Understanding of process methodologies with project and systems development life cycle experience.
  • Ability to lead and manage detailed analysis work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
  • Good knowledge in generating process documentation
